If you are a Cricket Wireless subscriber, you may have noticed you have been unable to send or receive calls or texts recently.Cricket Wireless network suffered a major nationwide outage affecting hundreds of cities throughout the U.S. including major metropolitan areas in Florida, California, New York, Texas and many other locations. The first reports of the outage were seen earlier today around 5 p.m. E.S.T. although Cricket Wireless did not make a public announcement until closer to 7 p.m. when they posted a status on their Twitter and Facebook pages.
Thousands of outraged customers took to their status to express their anger in comments.
Cricket Wireless officials have not given any further information other than their social media post and have not said what caused the outage or how long they anticipate it to continue. Customers attempting to call Cricket’s toll-free customer service number are greeted with a busy signal instead of a customer service representative.
Although there are thousands of reports of the outage, there are some areas that are not affected. Some smaller cities in Indiana, Wisconsin, and other midwestern states say they have had no issues. You can see areas affected on Down Detector’s Outage Map.
