SUMMERFIELD – A woman was airlifted to a local medical center after being involved in a rollover accident on US Highway 441 in Summerfield according to a Marion County Fire Rescue Facebook Post.
According to the post, Marion County Fire Rescue responded to a call at 6:30 pm Wednesday in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, MCFR units found a silver pickup that had rolled over on the side of Highway 441.
The female driver was found trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated quickly by firefighters. Paramedics declared the woman as a “trauma alert” and she was then taken to a local fire station for first aid until ShandsCair arrived and airlifted her to a local trauma hospital.
According to officials, the cause of the accident is still unknown and is currently under investigation.
