Hilarious and prolific Author Tim Dorsey will make two stops in Lake County today, signing copies of the latest book and chatting with fans. The former editor and reporter for the Tampa Tribune became a regular New York Times Bestseller with his 19-book series about lovable psychopath Serge Storms – a character who is as passionate about life in Florida as he is about murdering anyone he feels deserves it. His latest book “Coconut Cowboy”, released in January, earned him the John D. MacDonald Award for excellence in Florida fiction, along with authors like Carl Hiassen and Randy Wayne White.
Dorsey is known for his splashy book jackets resembling Florida postcards, and offbeat titles like “Atomic Lobster” and “Hurricane Punch”. His stories chronicle the rollicking escapades of Storms and his beloved sidekick, Coleman”, (a man named after a cooler), as they travel the state, running from the law, and fulfilling whatever mission Storms has decided to create for himself.
Dorsey will appear at the Leesburg Public Library at 1pm, and at 4 pm at the W.T. Bland Public Library in Mount Dora. At the Mt Dora stop he will be serving up coconut wine slushies in honor of his latest title, “Coconut Cowboy”
