ORLANDO – The UCF Orlando campus was placed on a short lockdown after receiving a report of a man that had what appeared to be a “long gun” according to campus police.
The incident was reported Friday morning at approximately 10:45 am by an Uber driver who stated she saw a man near the Milican Hall building carrying what she thought looked like a rifle.
Campus Police Chief Richard Beary stated that they responded within seconds of the call in a video posted on a UCF Police Twitter account.

An alert was issued warning students to stay clear of the Milican Hall and the library area while campus officials cleared each building.
According to campus police, no threat was found and normal operations were resumed.
