Wildwood Woman Suffers Minor Injuries After Accident with Motorcycle

PLANT CITY – A Wildwood woman suffered minor injuries after being involved in an accident while in Plant City according to Florida Highway Patrol.

48-year-old Kimberly Ramos was traveling in her 2010 Volkswagon heading westbound on US 92 just west of Tanner Road in Plant City when she attempted to turn off into a parking lot and was struck by a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 53-year-old Randell Coopshaw.

Ramos slowed down to make a left turn into Family Rentals when Coopshaw attempted to pass her causing a collision.

Along with Ramos was 46-year-old Jose Ortiz in the passenger seat. Ramos was treated for minor injuries on scene by EMS. Ortiz did not suffer any injuries.

Coopshaw also had a passenger on his Harley Davidson, 58-year-old Theresa Lindsey. Coopshaw was transported to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries. Lindsey also suffered serious injuries. She was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

Troopers issued Coopshaw a citation for improper passing.
