MASCOTTE – A Mascotte man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly shooting his girlfriend after an argument over a child eating dinner, according to Sgt. Fred Jones.
According to a press release, 38-year-old Stephen Collins was arguing with his girlfriend, 32–year-old Amberlee Price over a child not eating their dinner. During the argument, Collins told Price and the child to “get out of the house”.
Price took the child and left the home, getting into a pickup truck to leave. According to the report, Collins then retrieved a gun and followed Price outside and shot into the vehicle several times striking Price.
The child who was sitting next to price in the vehicle was not injured during the incident.
Price was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.
When deputies arrived on the scene, Collins came out of the home and walked towards deputies with his “hands up in the air”.
Collins was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is currently being held in the Lake County Jail without bond until his arraignment hearing on January 3rd at 8:30 am.
