COLEMAN – The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in identifying and locating a suspect responsible for the armed robbery of the Dollar General in Coleman early Tuesday morning.
According to a press release, the robbery occurred Tuesday morning at approximately 9:00 am at the Dollar General located at 1102 E. Warm Springs Blvd (US Hwy 301) in Coleman.
The suspect, described as a 6-foot tall male weighing approximately 140-150 pounds entered the store and struck the clerk while armed with a handgun.
The suspect then fled the store on foot after stealing a small amount of money and undisclosed merchandise.
The clerk suffered minor injuries, however, refused any medical treatment.
The suspect was wearing a black hoodie and a red bandana. He also carried a black backpack.
