OCALA – Three people were pronounced dead after colliding with a tow truck in an accident that occurred on State Road 326 in Ocala Sunday evening according to Florida Highway Patrol Reports.
The incident occurred on SR 326 near the intersection of NE 25th Avenue at approximately 5:52 pm, the report stated.
According to the report, 31-year-old Travis Lee Johnson was traveling westbound on SR 326 when for some unknown reason, his tow truck crossed the eastbound lane onto the south should of the road. Johnson then pulled his truck back onto the road into the path of a 2004 GMC Envoy causing a collision.
The three occupants of the envoy, William McCullough (61), Renee McCullough (56), and Ryan McCullough (31) were pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Charges are pending depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation. According to troopers, both drivers are being tested for alcohol as part of the investigation.
