OCALA – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are asking for help in finding the person responsible for leaving the scene of an accident after striking a man on a bicycle.
According to the report, 54-year-old Louis Dosh was traveling northbound on North Anthony Road in Ocala on Friday at approximately 3:18 pm when a vehicle, described as an older model white dually pickup truck came up behind him and struck him.
During the incident, Dosh was ejected from his bicycle causing him to hit the truck’s hood and roll off onto the shoulder of the road.
The driver of the truck did not stop to render aid to Dosh and continued driving.
Dosh was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition.
Witnesses described the driver of the truck as a middle-aged black male in his 40’s or 50’s, possibly with a beard. The truck was described as a white older model dually pickup truck with a yellowish “tinge” and multiple rust spots and dents. Witnesses also told troopers the truck had a “squared-off” body style. The vehicle involved may possibly have damage to the front passenger side as well as the hood.
