LEESBURG, Fla. – A motorcyclist from Debary, Florida was killed Sunday morning after colliding with fellow bikers as they traveled on CR 44-A according to Florida Highway Patrol Reports.
According to the report, 37-year-old Travis Detrick was traveling with fellow motorcycle enthusiasts, Ricardo Santiago (23) and Elias Santiago Rivera (27) both from Deltona.
The trio was traveling eastbound on CR 44A near Thrill Hill Road with Detrick following behind the others.
Troopers reported that Detrick attempted to catch up with his fellow riders but failed to slow down as he came closer causing him to collide with the motorcycle driven by Santiago sending the second bike colliding into Rivera.
Detrick was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by the Lake County Medical Examiner.
Santiago and Rivera suffered minor injuries during the incident.
Troopers are still investigating the accident.
