OCALA, Fla. – Southbound lanes of I-75 reopened after a semi-trailer loaded with construction equipment overturned just south of CR-318 in Ocala according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Troopers say 43-year-old Damon Rollins was driving a 2013 Freightliner Semi Truck carrying construction equipment headed southbound on I-75 Thursday morning when he veered off of the road striking several small trees.
The report stated that Rollins attempted to get back on the roadway which is when his trailer overturned blocking the middle and outer southbound lanes on the interstate.
Rollins did not suffer any injuries during the incident and no other vehicles were involved.
Troopers were able to remove the semi and trailer and resume normal traffic operation around 10:45 am.
