LAKE PANASOFFKEE, Fla. – Sumter County Deputies raided a Lake Panasoffkee home early Wednesday morning after securing a search warrant according to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Michelle Keszey.
Keszey released a statement Friday morning stating that members of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Squad and S.W.A.T. team executed the search warrant at approximately 6 a.m. on August 30. at a home located on County Road 406A in Lake Panasoffkee.
While securing the property, officers found a man barricaded in an outdoor storage shed.
The man refused to exit the shed yelling “come in and get him [the man] and blow the shed up” to S.W.A.T. members, stated Keszey.
Officers managed to gain access to the shed at which time the man, later identified as 30-year-old Terry Anthony Leonard, refused to comply with commands and physically resisted arrest.
Leonard was quickly subdued and officers continued to secure the property.
While securing the remaining property, Jeffrey Thomas Leonard and a female suspect were discovered barricaded in a separate storage shed. Jeffrey also refused to comply with officers’ commands and resisted arrest.
After successfully executing the search warrant, deputies arrested a total of six suspects, John Raymond Leonard, Terry Anthony Leonard, Jeffrey Thomas Leonard, John Raymond Beach, Debra Leonard Hunt, and Jessie Judith Fudge.
The search warrant resulting in the discovery of nearly three pounds of marijuana, 125 Oxycodone pills, 57 Hydrocodone pills, 3 Hydromorphone pills, and 11 grams of methamphetamine.
All six suspects were charged with various possession and trafficking charges. Some were charged with resisting arrest and keeping or maintaining a drug shop.
