Man in Fatal Lake County Wreck From Thursday Identified

EUSTIS — A 61-year-old man killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night was identified Friday morning as John Tynan of Kissimmee.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred about 9:50 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 437 and County Road 44A in Eustis.

A report adds that Tynan was in Saturn Ion at a stop sign, north on 437 as a Hyundai SUV was traveling east on 44A. Tynan made a left turn into the intersection, but into the path of the SUV and the vehicles collided.

Tynan was pronounced dead at the scene. Marcus Harrison, 18, of Umatilla and the driver of the SUV, sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.

The report adds the investigation is still ongoing.
