LEESBURG, Fla. – A pedestrian was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle driven by a Villages resident according to the Leesburg Police Department.
According to a statement released by the department, 35-year-old Thomas Thole was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 441 near North Lake Avenue in his 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 441.
Officers arrived at the scene of the accident at approximately 8:30 p.m. according to the statement.
The pedestrian, who was identified as 39-year-old Jeffery Hosea, was transported to the Leesburg Regional Medical Center where he later died due to injuries sustained from the collision.
