CLERMONT, Fla. – A Clermont man is back behind bars after an investigation led detectives to believe he was the man caught masturbating outside of a Clermont apartment complex, arrest reports say.
Detectives with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on 20-year-old Dominic Roman Amarante after he was reportedly identified in a photo lineup during an investigation initiated when deputies received a report of a man masturbating outside of an apartment at Raintree Apartments in Clermont.
According to the arrest warrant, a resident in the complex reported that she was walking on the sidewalk in front of her apartment building when she “nearly bumped into” Amarante just after 9:00 p.m. on October 4.
The woman stated that she observed Amarante holding his penis in his hand and asked him if he was masturbating to which he reportedly replied, “Yes, Ma’am”, at which point she screamed and ran inside.
However, the woman did not report the incident until two days later when her 19-year-old daughter told her that she had seen a man looking into the windows of their apartment.
When speaking with detectives, the woman reportedly identified Amarante from a digital photo lineup as the man she saw masturbating.
Amarante was previously arrested and charged with indecent exposure in a similar incident in December 2016. He was sentenced and served just over nine months in the Lake County Jail until he was released on September 23, 2017.
Amarante was out of Jail for less than three weeks when deputies served the new arrest warrant.
Deputies took Amarante into custody and transported him to the Lake County Jail where he is currently being held on $30,000 worth of bonds and charged with two counts of exposing sexual organs in public, and one count of burglary of an occupied dwelling.
