Hillsborough County – An accident on I-75 at milepost 245 is expected to cause delays throughout the day, reports Florida Highway Patrol.
The single vehicle incident was caused by a tire blowout which caused the driver of an SUV to lose control of the vehicle. The accident took place just south of Big Bend Road on southbound I-75. The driver of the SUV was reported to have died on scene. The six passengers of the vehicle have been transported to Tampa General Hospital with varying degrees of injury.

All southbound lanes of traffic were being diverted at Exit 246.
As of the latest reports, the inside lane of southbound I-75 has been reopened. Motorists should expect continued delays or seek other southbound travel routes as the investigation and clean up continue.
Update: As of 12 p.m Sunday October 15, all lanes of I-75 have been reopened.
Update 7:00 p.m 10/15: The driver of the vehicle, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has been identified as Jessica Guevara of Brandon, Florida. Her six passengers ranged in age from one year old to eleven years old. Most of the children suffered minor injuries; however, a one year old and a nine year old are listed as being in critical condition at the time of this update.
