Driver Hopsitalized After Being Trapped in a Car Under an RV

OCALA — A driver was hospitalized early Monday morning after being trapped in a vehicle under an RV according to Marion County firefighters.

Firefighters from the Marion County Fire Department were dispatched to the 2500 block of SW Highway 484 in Ocala at 8:39 a.m. Monday morning after receiving several 911 calls in reference to a vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, responders found a passenger vehicle lodged underneath a recreational vehicle with the driver trapped inside.

Members of the departments Technical Rescue Team were called in to assist with the scene.

Responders were able to successfully remove the roof and rear doors of the vehicle to free the driver who has not yet been identified.

Paramedics declared the driver a “trauma alert” and transported the driver to a local trauma hospital.

The cause of the accident is unknown and remains under investigation.
