OCALA, Fla. — Motorists traveling southbound on Interstate 75 Saturday afternoon experienced a bit of a delay after a semi truck lost control and overturned blocking all three southbound lanes near mile marker 363 just south of the Micanopy exit.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, 47-year-old Phillip Duncan was driving his 2017 Volvo Semi with a trailer when he veered off of the roadway and onto the grassy shoulder for some unknown reason. Duncan attempted to correct the truck bringing it back onto the paved road when he lost control and overturned.
The truck came to rest on its side blocking all three southbound lanes.
Responders worked quickly to clear the scene and restore normal traffic and were able to successfully open all lanes at 3:30 p.m., however, traffic remained congested for a short time thereafter.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident and there were no reported injuries.
Duncan was charged with failure to maintain a lane.
