MORRISTON, Fla. — An Ocala woman is in serious condition after an accident that occurred in Levy County Wednesday afternoon according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
40-year-old Kathryn Shrater was reportedly traveling eastbound on County Road 326 in a 2017 Hyundai Sonata when she failed to stop at a stop sign.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon the report indicated.
Shrater entered the intersection of County Road 326 and State Road 121 directly in the path of a 2003 Peterbilt Semi truck that was traveling southbound on State Road 121.
Shrater suffered serious injuries during the collision and was airlifted to Shands Hospital.
Shrater was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured in the collision.
