Mount Dora Police Host Annual “National Night Out” Event

MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Mount Dora will once again host National Night Out for the community and law enforcement agencies.

This event is an opportunity for the community to build better and stronger relationships with police, firefighters, and other law enforcement agencies.

The free event will be held on October 2 at 5:30 p.m. in the Target parking lot at 17450 U.S. Highway 441, in Mount Dora. There will be food, activities, fun, and lots of giveaways!

This is the 35th anniversary of National Night Out. National Night Out was first established in 1984 by Matt Peskin of the National Association of Town Watch.

The first several events were very simple and have evolved into large events with food and activities. Most activities are meant to be educational and help the community be a safer place.

From an approximate 2 million attendance to a now approximate over 37 million attendance rate, the event is quite popular.
