OCALA — Late Wednesday night, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Ocala Police Department responded to two separate calls regarding a shooting incident in NW Ocala that fell into both county and city jurisdictions.
The Police responded to a call at a Circle K gas station at 5986 North Highway 40, where 18 year old June Hugo was found in a red sedan near the storefront with a severe gunshot wound. Authorities transported Hugo to the hospital where he later passed away from this injury.
While calling for medical transport, another call was received indicating that the shooting may have occurred near 58th avenue in the Ocala Ridge Subdivision.
The police confirmed evidence at this location.
Two persons of interest were detained near the Circle K gas station but have not yet been charged.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office of Major Crimes detectives continue to investigate both crime scenes.
