LEESBURG- A little piece of Chicago has moved into downtown Leesburg and its name is the Great Chicago Fire Brewery and Tap Room.
Located on W. Magnolia St. between 3rd and 4th Streets, this quaint establishment boasts great food and an assortment of craft beers from small breweries across the US with 10 guest taps at all times. CFB has just recently started their own brewery on premises and expects to have 6-8 taps of their own beer beginning in October. The first round of their brews will include a Cherry Vanilla Porter, an Oktoberfest, a Peach Blonde Ale, a Hefeweizen, A Belgium Wit and a Brown Ale. CFB will be hosting a huge “Chicago” themed party when the brewery is officially opened.
In the meantime, you can come in and enjoy the current brews on tap, which are constantly being updated, while watching the football games on CFB’s six TVs which include the NFL package. While cheering on your favorite teams, be sure to try some of the authentic Chicago food from their ever-growing menu.
The food is outrageously good and the prices are amazing for the quality and quantity that you receive. As we sat there chit-chatting with the friendly staff, we devoured an Italian beef with giardiniera peppers and mozzarella cheese, a Chicago-style hot dog with all of the fixings, and a Maxwell Street Polish Sausage. Being a native to the Chicago area, let me just say, this was truly authentic and I am so stoked to have a place so close that offers amazing food and an atmosphere that made me feel at home again.
CFB currently has 6 tables inside with seating for 24. The bar seats 9-10 and the window counter will seat 10. There is also a covered area outside that will seat up to 50 people. On certain days they offer live music and karaoke and once a month they have a BBQ. It is an intimate setting, with decor that portrays the magnificent Chicago Fire Department.
Just recently, CFB has added an authentic Chicago meatball sub and tamales to their menu. Soon, they will also be adding original Chicago-style thin crust pizza that you can order by the slice. They may not offer fried food such as french fries, but honestly, with the truly satisfying sandwiches that they offer, you don’t need it! Currently, they are also working on a catering menu that will include Italian beef with their homemade au jus for around $12 per pound, homemade coleslaw for $5 per pound, and could expand to do Italian sausage and hot dogs with all the fixings on the side to make your own Chicago dogs.
Hours of operation are Mondays 11am-9pm, Tues through Thurs 11am-10pm, Fri and Sat 11am-11:59pm, and Sun 12pm-6pm. Save a $1 off your craft beer drafts during their weekday Happy Hour from 4pm-7pm.
