TAMPA, Fla – Florida Highway Patrol reported one woman dead and another seriously injured after an accident on US-301 during the evening of Tuesday, October 24.
Lacey Del Jones, 21 of Tampa, was reportedly headed north on Macintosh Road in a 2017 Chevy Camaro when she made a left turn onto US-301 and entered the path of another vehicle. The second vehicle, a 2003 Dodge Ram, collided with Del Jones’ Camaro on the driver’s side.
Following the impact, both vehicles came to a final rest on the west shoulder of US-301.
Del Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle, 53 year old Sheila Townsend of Tampa, reportedly sustained serious injuries and was taken to Florida Hospital in Tampa for treatment.
