Bomb Threat at Meadowbrook Church, Suspect in Custody

OCALA, Fla. — Marion County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad responded to a bomb threat Thursday morning at Meadowbrook church.

Reports to Ocala.com say a suspicious man with a box and a backpack made threats in the parking lot of the church campus.

The threat came during school hours for Meadowbrook Academy, putting the school into lockdown and parents were notified of the lockdown status.

The immediate area was evacuated.

One man was quickly detained and officials are continuing the investigation at Carlton Arms Apartments where the suspect resides.

Ocala Police stated that all students are safe. The school is currently on lockdown and parents cannot enter the campus at this time.

Police advised residents to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
