EUSTIS, Fla. – The City of Eustis will host its Independence Day Hometown Celebration on Saturday, July 1 in Ferran Park, located at 250 Ferran Park Drive in Eustis. The free, family-friendly event runs from 5 – 9:30 p.m. and includes live music, vendors, food, a kids’ zone, a water ski show on Lake Eustis at 6:30 p.m. and a spectacular fireworks finale over the Lake at 9:30 p.m.
The free kids’ zone will feature bounce houses, water slides, a face painter, balloon animals and arts and crafts with the Eustis Historical Museum and the Lake Eustis Museum of Art. The Eustis Aquatic Center will be open for free, open-swim and splash pad use from 11:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Entertainment in the historic Alice McClelland Memorial Bandshell will feature live music from the band Shakedown! and entertainment by the Mystic Jewels Dance Troupe.
“This patriotic event offers a wide variety of free, family fun. There will be something for everyone to enjoy,” said Erin Bailey, the City’s Event Coordinator. ”We are especially excited to bring back the water ski show, which attendees really enjoyed at last year’s event. This year, we’ll have a special guest, local skier but we’re keeping their identity a secret so it’s a surprise for the crowd!”
The Lakeland Water Ski Show Team, sponsored by Bay and Lake Pharmacies, will perform on Lake Eustis at 6:30 p.m. The night will be capped off at 9:30 p.m. with a fantastic display of fireworks over the Lake. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Pets are permitted but must remain on a leash.
The City of Eustis is seeking vendors for the event. For more event information, including how to be a vendor, contact Erin Bailey, Event Coordinator, at 352-483-5491, events@eustis.org or visit our website www.eustis.org.
