CLERMONT – Deputies responded to the Marathon Gas station where the store clerk reported that they received three counterfeit twenty dollar bills in the last few days from the same woman.
The clerk described the woman as a blonde woman wearing a black sleeveless shirt that had been in the store several times in the last few days. The clerk also stated that the woman was in on Friday, July 22, the woman came into the Marathon station and passed a counterfeit twenty dollar bill, then again on Saturday, July 23, the same woman came in and passed more fake bills. The woman returned again on Monday and attempted once again to pass the fake bills but the clerk refused to accept them advising the woman that they were counterfeit.

Deputies were called back out to the Marathon station on Tuesday when the woman returned to the store. Deputies found the woman, identified as 38-year-old Kellie Susan Dorfman, in the parking lot with an open beer.
Dorfman was arrested and charged with three felony counts of passing a counterfeit bill and one count of violation of probation. She is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on a $6,000 bond for the counterfeiting charges and no bond for the violation of probation charge. She is scheduled to appear before a judge for arraignment on August 22 on all charges.
As of now, there is no connection between this case and the counterfeiting case from earlier this month in The Villages.
