CLERMONT, Fla. – A couple was arrested Friday afternoon while reportedly attempting to transport two pounds of marijuana from Orlando to Tallahassee according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
According to the report, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra traveling northbound on the Florida Turnpike for speeding when the troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Troopers identified the driver as 20-year-old Tatiana Lee Crapps and the passenger as 22-year-old Tremain O’Dave Tyson.
When questioned, Tyson admitted to having “a lot of weed” in the trunk.
Tyson also told Troopers that they had just bought the marijuana from Orlando and were traveling back to Tallahassee where he was going to use it to “try and make some money”.
After searching the vehicle, Troopers located a Taurus .40 caliber handgun which was readily accessible and loaded with a round in the chamber, two pounds of marijuana vacuum sealed bag, a vacuum sealer, and smaller bags.
Troopers also located almost $400 in cash after searching Tyson.
Tyson was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license, intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, and delivery of marijuana.
Crapps was also arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and delivery of marijuana.
