Deputies Search for Suspect in Clermont Robbery

CLERMONT, Fla. — Lake County deputies are searching for a suspect who reportedly robbed a 7-11 convenience store in Clermont at gunpoint early Saturday morning.

According to a press release issued by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect entered the store located at1635 US Highway 27 at approximately 1:25 a.m. Saturday morning brandishing a black and silver handgun before demanding the clerk to hand over the cash.

The suspect then fled the store before police arrived with an undisclosed amount of money traveling southbound on US Highway 27 in what the clerk described as a silver newer model vehicle.

Surveillance footage taken from the store shows the suspect was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, dark pants, black shoes, black gloves, a black bandana, and a red stocking cap.

Detectives believe the robbery may be related to a similar robbery that occurred at a 7-11 store in Osceola County.

The Lake and Osceola County Sheriff’s Offices are working together to see if the two robberies are related.
