BUSHNELL – Sumter County detectives are searching for three suspects who they say attempted to enter the American Legion located in Bushnell on C-48 on January 7th.
According to a press release, the trio, armed with power tools and a handgun, attempted to enter the building at approximately 3:00 am.
According to deputies, surveillance video footage shows the three were wearing masks and jackets. One suspect attempted to enter through the door using a “power tool” while another stood behind him with a gun pointed at the door.
The suspects, however, did not enter the building. They fled the scene before deputies arrived when the alarm in the building was triggered.
Detectives believe that the suspects in the video are the same suspects involved in similar burglaries in Pasco and Hernando counties.
