OCALA, Fla. — Detectives with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation after discovering human remains in the Ocala National Forest Monday according to a department spokesperson.
Deputies were dispatched to an area near the intersection of State Road 40 and 115th Avenue after receiving a report of possible human remains.
Detectives are actively investigating the incident and are attempting to determine the identity of the victim.
No other information has been released at this time as the investigation continues.
