LAKE PANASOFFKEE – Detectives with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office are seeking help in identifying and locating four suspects who broke into the Dollar General in Lake Panasoffkee last Wednesday.
Sumter County Dispatchers received an alarm call early Wednesday morning around 2:43 am from the Dollar General located on County Road 470 in Lake Panasoffkee. When Deputies arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene, however, video surveillance footage shows four suspects believed to be two men and two women breaking into the store.
All the suspects were wearing gloves and covering their faces. According to Deputies, they believe one of the women had blonde hair and was wearing what appeared to be a hat with marijuana leaf print and carrying a light color or possibly pink flat purse. Another suspect was wearing what appeared to be a Santa Claus mask.

The suspects were in the store for approximately 6 minutes. According to Detectives, the suspects used a Dollar General shopping basket to load items and made off with cigarettes. cigars, and possibly other items as well although it has not yet been determined what else was taken.
The group of burglars left in what appeared to be a dark-colored vehicle.
