Dollar General Robbery Suspect Found Naked, Arrested

MCINTOSH – One of the suspects involved in the armed robbery of a Dollar General store late Monday night is behind bars according to a Facebook post on Marion County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

According to deputies, two armed suspects entered the Dollar General store located at 19998 North Hwy 441 in McIntosh at approximately 10:30 pm Monday night and demanded money from the two employees.

The suspects, who were both wearing dark clothing and masks, told the employees they would kill them if they did not cooperate with their demands.

The suspects bound the victims’ hands and feet with duct tape and took one of their cell phones before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Deputies arrived on scene shortly after and were able to track the suspects with the help of one of the K9 deputies.

The K9 deputy was able to track the suspects headed North West from the store where deputies recovered a black duffle bag with cash in it.

Several minutes later deputies found a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road approximately 300 yards from the Dollar General.

In the vehicle, deputies found a naked man, later identified as 19-year-old Traquail Lamont Fort.

According to the post, Fort was found in the vehicle “sweating profusely” and appeared to had vomited on himself.

Deputies found clothing along with a camouflage mask and gloves near the vehicle that matched the description of the clothing worn by one of the armed robbery suspects.

Fort was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping-false imprisonment, possession of a weapon by a Florida delinquent, robbery with a firearm, and tampering with or harassing a witness.

He was transported to the Marion County Jail where he is being held without bond.

Detectives are still trying to determine if this robbery is related to any of the other numerous Dollar General robberies that have occurred throughout Marion County over the past few weeks.

Deputies are asking anyone with information on the location or identity of the second suspect or any of the other armed robbery investigations to call Detective Bradley Bartlett at (352)438-5932 or you can report it anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers of Marion County at (352)368-STOP.
