SORRENTO — Southbound traffic on County Road 437 in Sorrento was shut down Monday afternoon after a dump truck rolled over causing a diesel spill according to Lake County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters arrived at the scene of to find a dump truck laying on its side with diesel fuel spilling from one of its tanks Monday afternoon near the Orange County line after an apparent collision with another vehicle.
According to a post on Facebook, traffic was shut down for approximately 30 minutes while responders cleaned up the spill.
Firefighters pumped the remaining fuel from the truck’s fuel tank in order to prevent any further hazardous waste from spilling, the post stated.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident was transported to a local hospital where the unidentified person was listed in stable condition.
The driver of the truck was not injured during the incident.
