SORRENTO, Fla. — Fall festivities begin with a unique event that hundreds of people attend in excitement. The East Lake County Library is hosting its Annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ Contest for the fourth year in a row. If the title does not draw you in, then maybe the catapults and contests will peak your interest.
Families are invited to launch pumpkins one hundred feet in the air with the provided catapults in hopes to hit the target.
Each team will be competing for the three spots that receive prizes in the contest. Contestants will compete to win, “Best Accuracy”, “Best Decorated Pumpkin”, “Best Costume” and “Best Decorated Structure.”
This fun for all ages event is held outdoors and begins at 10:30 a.m. at the East Lake County Library.
The volunteers are once again excited to bring the community together and create great memories for your family.
