NAPLES, Fla. – The fourth man suspected of being involved in a shooting that occurred during the Leesburg Bikefest that ended in the death of David Donovan earlier this year was located and is now in custody according to a Leesburg Police Department report.
The Lake County State Attorney’s office issued an arrest warrant for four suspects, reportedly believed to be members of The Outlaws motorcycle club, after the suspects were allegedly involved in a shooting at the Circle K gas station located on West Main Street on April 29.
According to the arrest reports, members of two opposing motorcycle clubs, The Outlaws, and The Kingsmen were involved in an altercation ending with the members shooting at each other.
When officers arrived, one of the members of The Kingsmen, identified as David Donovan, was located on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his back. A member of The Outlaws was also located lying next to his motorcycle with gunshot wounds to his thigh, shoulder, and back.
After the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for four members.
The fourth member, 32-year-old Gregory Umphress, was located and arrested Saturday while waiting to get a tattoo in Naples.
Deputies from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office learned of Umphress’s whereabouts and found him lying on a couch when they entered the tattoo parlor.
Umphress was arrested and transported to the Collier County Jail where he is currently being held without bond awaiting transportation to Lake County where he will face charges for conspiracy to commit murder.
