COLEMAN – Deputies have identified the remains of a body found off of CR 514 just outside of the Coleman city limits in Sumter County according to officials.
Sumter County deputies responded to the area on CR 514 near Coleman Friday afternoon after receiving a call from a passerby about possible remains found in a ditch on the side of the road.
When deputies arrived, they found the remains that appeared to have belonged to a middle-aged white male. According to the initial report, the remains were in an advanced state of decomposition.
Deputies have now confirmed the remains belonged to 24-year-old Jack “Dom” Dominick Cattedra III.
Cattedra was last seen near his home in Lady Lake on February 26th according to a statement released by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives are not yet releasing a cause of death, however, have ruled the incident as a homicide and are investigating all leads.
