Lake County Commissioners Invite Public to “Constructing a Better Lake County Summit”

CLERMONT – According to a statement released by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, Lake County residents are invited to join in as Lake County hosts the “Constructing a Better Lake County Summit” on Tuesday, October 4th at the Clermont City Center located at 620 W. Montrose Street in Clermont from 1 pm to 5 pm.

At the summit, which was organized by the County Commissioners’ Economic Growth Department, speakers such as Pierce Jones, director and founding member of the Program for Resource Efficient Communities, Mark Hosteller, associate professor in the Department of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Florida, Brian Canin, president of Orlando-based Canin Associates, and Jim Lentz, developer of sustainable healthy living communities such as Harmony, will discuss multiple topics along with the public covering trends in healthy lifestyle communities, inclusive development, green building and more.

“As one of the fastest growing counties in Florida, Lake County must continue to adopt and implement new and innovative practices to ensure that future development preserves our quality of life,” said Sean Parks, Chairman of the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. “This summit seeks to bring together elected officials, community leaders, builders, and those focused on water conservation and Florida-friendly landscaping for a meeting of the minds to discuss best practices as we move forward.”
