Leesburg Man Arrested for Attempted Murder

LEESBURG – A Leesburg Man was arrested just after midnight Saturday morning after allegedly shooting his daughter and wife according to police.

Leesburg police responded to the residence on Crest Avenue in response to a shooting.

When officers arrived, one victim was standing at the end of the driveway with a gunshot wound on the left side of her body according to the report.

The victim told officers that her father, 53-year-old Charles Green, had shot her and was still in the home with her mother.

Officers entered the home and quickly placed Green in custody.

Once in the home, officers found Green’s wife laying on a bedroom floor with multiple gunshot wounds.

According to the report, the wounds on both victims were non-life-threatening. They were both transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.

While investigating, officers discovered that the gun Green used was previously reported stolen.

Green was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of grand theft of a firearm.

Green was transported to the Lake County Jail where hs is being held without bond.
