Leesburg Issues Mandatory Water-Boil Notice After Water Main Break

LEESBURG — Residents in a 15-block radius near North College Street were without water after a water main break in the water distribution system connected to the water tower located between West Main Street and High Street.

Officials with he Leesburg Public Works Department issued a mandatory water-boil notice for any homes or businesses that may have lost water or water pressure during the time of the main breakage.

Any water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes must be boiled by placing it on a stove and bringing it to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using the water.

The notice will remain in effect until all repairs to the water mains are complete and until the city receives two consecutive days of clean bacteriological surveys.
