LEESBURG – A pedestrian was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing US Highway 27 according to Leesburg Police.
According to a statement released by Lt. Joe Iozzi, the incident occurred Tuesday night at approximately 10:00 pm near the intersection of US Hwy 27 and Griffin Road in Leesburg.
Leesburg Police responded to the area and found that 54-yrear-old Terrald Norris was struck by a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 19-year-old Taylor Walker.
Walker was driving southbound on Highway 27 when her vehicle struck Norris.
Norris was transported to the Leesburg Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.
According to the statement, the incident is still under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Leesburg Police Department Traffic Unit at (352)728-9860.
