LEESBURG – Leesburg officials are inviting all residents to attend a meeting that will be hosted by the City of Leesburg’s Recreation Advisory Board on Tuesday, December 13 at 5:30 pm.
The meeting will be held at the Leesburg Community Building located at 109 East Dixie Avenue in the East room.
The purpose of the meeting is to get input from the residents in and around Leesburg on how to best utilize a 2.6-acre lakefront property that the City of Leesburg recently purchased for recreational purposes.
The property is currently vacant and is located at 810 Beverly Harbor Drive with Lake Griffin frontage.
In order to preserve waterfront property, city Commissioners unanimously approved the purchase of the property to protect the community from unwanted development with plans to develop the property as a community park when funds became available.
During the meeting, residents will have an opportunity to voice their ideas in front of the Recreation Advisory Board as well as one or more city Commissioners.
