LEESBURG — Performing Arts students at Lake-Sumter State College will premier their production of “Alice in Wonderland” October 19 and 20 at the Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Auditorium located at LSSC’s Leesburg campus followed by a “Mad Hatter Tea Party”.

The first viewing of the students’ adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s enchanting classic Alice in Wonderland adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller will be held on Friday, October 19 at 7 p.m. and the second viewing at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 20.

Aside from the play, the cast will also host special matinee performances for over 900 elementary-school students from various Lake County schools.

LSSC faculty member and director for the productions, Heather Elmatti, hosts the children’s reader’s theatre program for several area schools allowing children to experience live theater and making the performing arts open and engaging for local elementary school students.

“I’m excited to provide another opportunity to share theatre with our local community,” Elmatti stated.  “We strive to make theatre accessible and fun for all ages.”
