Leesburg, Fla. – A man was airlifted with serious injuries after a jet ski accident at Ski Beach Sunday afternoon according to witnesses.
Witnesses told Central Florda Wire that the man was riding on the back of a jet ski when he was thrown off into the water.
According to one witness, several people along with the victim were “bumping” their jetskis into each other which is when the victim was ejected from the watercraft.
After landing in the water, the victim reportedly floated there when two jetskis “bumped” each other pinning the victim in the middle.
A bystander noticed the victim floating in the water and quickly jumped in to rescue the man.
Witnesses stated that when they pulled him from the water, the victim had severe injuries to his right arm.
Several bystanders rendered first aid to the victim until EMS could arrive.
The victim was then airlifted to a Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officers are still investigating the incident.
