Man Arrested, Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen While She Slept

LEESBURG, Fla. – Leesburg Police arrested a man Saturday afternoon after being accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl while she slept according to an arrest report.

Officers responded to Leesburg Regional Medical Center after receiving a call from a woman stating that her daughter had been sexually assaulted.

Upon arrival, the victim told officers that she was asleep on her couch when she woke up to a “thrusting motion”. The victim told officers that when she woke, 19-year-old Dontavious “Tay” McCalla was on top of her and was having sexual intercourse with her.

The victim stated that she attempted to get away from McCalla but was unable to.

Officers were later able to locate McCalla at a Circle K gas station located on 14th Street in Leesburg where he reportedly admitted to having intercourse with the victim.

The report also stated that during the interview, McCalla uttered “she wasn’t asleep or nothing” which officers found suspicious since they had not revealed that information to McCalla.

McCalla was arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail where he is being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

McCalla is expected to appear in court for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. on August 21.
