
OCKLAWAHA, Fla. — Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol arrested a man Friday morning after he allegedly struck a pedestrian near the intersection of SE 180th Avenue Road and SE 183rd Lane in Ocklawaha according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.
27-year-old Dylan Roberts was reportedly traveling southbound on SE 180th Avenue Road at the same time that 38-year-old Jeffrey Kimberlin of Fruitland Park was walking along the southbound shoulder of the road when for some reason, Roberts’s vehicle veered off of the roadway and struck Kimberlin.
Marion County Fire Rescue responders transported Kimberlin to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
Roberts was arrested and charged with driving on a suspended license and driving while license suspended resulting in a death.
According to reports, Roberts has a history of driving on a suspended license.
Among other arrests, Roberts was previously arrested in 2010 for driving without a valid driver’s license in Marion County and then again in 2014 in Sumter County for driving on a suspended license.
Roberts was transported to the Marion County Jail by troopers where he is being held without bond.
