Man Arrested for Throwing Objects at Cars

EUSTIS — A Sorrento man was arrested late Tuesday night after officers received multiple reports of a pedestrian throwing objects at their vehicles as they drove on CR 44A between CR 439 and Mill Creek Road in Eustis.

The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night according to the arrest report.

Upon arrival, officers met with three of the victims. Each victim told officers that the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old John Gregory, threw objects at their vehicles as they drove down the road.

Two of the victims stated that Gregory threw objects that caused damage to their windshield and door. The third victim stated that Gregory threw dirt and rocks on his windshield causing damage to the wiper mechanism.

According to the report, Gregory told officers “he was tired of people not sharing the roadway so he must do what he has to do”.

Gregory was arrested and charged with two felony counts of throwing a deadly missile into a vehicle and transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

Gregory is scheduled to appear in court on November 5 at 8:30 a.m. for arraignment.
