FRUITLAND PARK – A domestic disturbance call in Fruitland Park lead to deputies asking nearby residents to stay away from the area according to Lake County Sheriff’s spokesman, Sgt. Fred Jones.
According to Jones, deputies responded to the home near Sunnyside Drive and Lake Unity Road in response to a domestic disturbance.
When deputies arrived, the suspect had reportedly barricaded themselves in the home.
Jones stated there are no other people in the home and deputies are still trying to make contact with the suspect.
No names have been released at this time and it is unknown if the suspect is armed.
Deputies are still on scene attempting to make contact with the suspect who has not been cooperating with deputies.
