MARION COUNTY – The Marion County Emergency Management team opened four sandbag locations where residents can pick up free sandbags to protect against possible flooding during Hurricane Matthew.
Locations are mostly self-serve and are open 24 hours a day until the end of the storm. If you need assistance with the bags, you can see a staff member at the front desk of the District offices during business hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm).

There are no sandbag limits at any of the locations listed.
The City of Ocala will also open sandbag locations on Wednesday, October 5th and Thursday, October 6th from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Those stations will be located at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Complex off of SR 40 (Silver Springs Blvd.) and Tuscawilla Park at the large pavilion off of NE Watula Ave.
Staff recommends approaching the sandbag station in Tuscawilla Park from the south to allow for a more efficient traffic flow. The limit for these stations is 10 bags per household.
