OCALA — The Marion County Commissioners Office released information for a relief drive for the victims of Hurricane Michael.
“Marion County has a long history of stepping up to help others in times of need,” stated county commission chairman Kathy Bryant.
According to the Commissioners Offices’ Facebook page, they will be accepting donations from October 16 through Thursday, October 25.
They are specifically asking for donations of the following: Non-perishable foods, water, towels, personal hygiene products, laundry detergent, combs/brushes, paper products, utensils, and baby products.
Donations can be dropped off at any government’s office including any of the county’s public libraries or fire stations.
Three sheriffs office stations are also accepting donations at 8322 North Highway 441, 9048 South West 200, and 3260 SE 80th street.
Hills Mayflower, who has partnered with the county to facilitate transport, will also be a local donation hub located at 416 North Weat 7th street.
Monetary donations can be made at http://globalgiving.org under the “Hurricane Michael Relief Fund”.
