Motorcycle Crash at USF Leaves One Critical

TAMPA, Fla – The Florida Highway Patrol has released reports of a crash at the intersection of USF Holly Drive and USF Maple Drive.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m Thursday October 19. A 2007 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on USF Holly Drive when the driver of the vehicle, Tresa John (18), attempted to turn left and entered the path of another vehicle. The second vehicle was identified as a 2015 Yamaha YFZR3 motorcycle carrying a driver and passenger. Both occupants of the motorcycle were thrown from the bike on impact. The driver was reported to be wearing a helmet; his passenger did not have one .

Tresa John was reportedly uninjured at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle, Etim Nissan Etim-Inyang (22), was reported to have minor injuries and was taken to Tampa General for treatment. Etim-Inyang’s passenger, 21 year old Fifi Buckman Sam, was reported critically injured and taken to Tampa General for treatment. Criminal charges in the incident are pending at this time.
